Video Games that Work you out
It is arguable whether gaming is a creative, stress relieving habit, which can even improve one's social skill. But one thing for sure, playing video games is not the healthiest habit a person can acquire. Since alternatives to gaming don't necessarily include practicing for the upcoming city marathon, no one can guarantee that once you store your PlayStation at the back of your closet, you will not find yourself stretching on the couch in front of the TV. The best solution, then, would be to play healthier games, video games that help you burn calories, build your muscles and basically get into shape, without sweating at the gym with the rest.
Getting Physical - Dance Dance Revolution
If your goal is to burn all the calories of today's breakfast and work on your cardio, of course, while playing video games, DDR just might be the ultimate game for you. But if you suffer from aerobic-phobia, it might just makes you feel like the perfect idiot.
Dance Dance Revolution is a pretty simple game: you stand on a dance platform, encircled by four arrows that point up, down, left and right. The same arrows appear on the screen and let you know when and which arrow to hit, all has to fit with the sounds of cheesy pop music. And as if it is not humiliating enough, each dancing step of yours gets responses from the screen, responses that range from "PERFECT!!" to "BOO!!". But at the end of every moving session you can ask for a report on the number of calories you've burned.

Get into the Eye Toy Groove
If you liked Dance Dancer Revolution, you might want consider shaking your assets with the Eye Toy Groove. Similar to the DDR, it is a dance video game for Playstation, in which the overweight gamer/aspiring dancer has to meet the targets marked on the screen with his dancing moves. Except a dancing pad, the game features an Eye Toy (some kind of Webcam) and a more variant selection of music.
Biking up the Hill - GameBike
The idea behind GameBike is simple as well: instead of the normal exercise biking, the GameBike collaborates with PlayStation, Xbox and Game Cube. Except that instead of watching cooking shows and the clock alternately, your pedaling activates the game. The more enthusiastic you'll pedal, the faster your racing car would race.
GameBike is said to be healthier than DDR. Plus, coordination is not mandatory. However, it is limited to a certain type of video games, racing games whereby the players' main objective is to get somewhere faster. Then, you might as well take your bicycles outdoors and escape the neighbors' dog.
Kill, Kill, Killowat
Killowat Sports is an exercise device, the kind you find in gyms, which can be hooked up to every game console in the market including your PC, Playstation, GameCube, Xbox and so. Its main advantage is that you don't have to compromise on boring chasing games or struggle with your natural gift of incoordination. However, its main disadvantage is its price. Though it is not significantly pricier than that exercise bike you now use as coat hanger, but quite pricy for a toy you will not be using more than once or twice...
